Pinehurst No. 4, 18th Hole
When James Walker Tufts originally came to this area in the late 1800s, he was struck by the temperate climate, especially in the winter months. Envisioning a retreat capable of healing the mind, body and soul, he began to build what we now know as Pinehurst today.
And during weeks like these in mid-January, it is easy to see, feel and experience exactly what Tufts had in mind. Temperatures will soar into the 70s by this weekend, but the deep Carolina blue skies are already here. A morning walk around Pinehurst on Jan. 9, 2013, provided us with these images.

Haven’t gotten the opportunity to play since the restoration to No.2 by Mr. Coore and Mr. Crenshaw. Looks beautiful!
